Marine Biology Trip

Every 3 years, students in grade 7-9 attend a trip to the BC coast for a Marine Biology Trip!

This year students are on the trip March 18-23. They are so excited and are involved in an inquiry project prior to the trip for research and preparation.

The projects involve:

  • The Transdisciplinary Theme: How the World Works: An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical, biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles.

With the following key concepts:

  • Change: How do small changes in an ecosystem result in larger changes throughout multiple ecosystems?

  • Connection: How are the parts of the ecosystem connected?

  • Reflection: How did this research/experience change your thinking or feeling? How can I use what I’ve learned to make positive changes in ecosystems?

The students have had several fundraisers including bottle collection, hot lunches, bake sales, individual efforts, and the Sweet Hear Dinner and silent auction at Milo Hall. Thank you to Sisksika Board of Education, the Lions Club and our Parent Council for support!
